How I Typically Work with Individual Teachers and Homeschooling Parents

Start by sending me an email: tell me a little bit about what you do in your approach to classroom teaching or homeschooling and how you hope to use Foldables as a strategy--it's okay to say you don't know, but if you have specific ideas in mind, I'd like to know those.
Many, though not all, classroom teachers are already familiar with Foldables when I start working with them. One of our first conversations is about how you (the classroom teacher) like to teach, what content in the curriculum you are covering, what your students are like, how familiar you are with Foldables or other teaching and learning strategies, how much learner noise and movement you are comfortable with, what kinds of programs and strategies your school administrators support . . . that sort of information helps inform me about how we might work together. We often cover these kinds of questions in email exchange, and sometimes through a phone call, or some combination of the two.
Many homeschooling parents haven't heard of Foldables, though they may be familiar with the strategy of Lapbooking, which originated in Foldables. If you are familiar with Foldables or Lapbooking, I'd like to know that. It is helpful for me to know whether you always planned to home school your child(ren) or if this is something that resulted from pandemic-related or other circumstantial changes. It's also useful to know if you have a particular curriculum or approach to your homeschool practice. Do you keep a strict schedule or does it vary? Do you focus on particular lessons or unit studies? When do you teach various content areas--a little bit each day, or on separate days or units? What kinds of activities do you do when introducing a new subject or unit? How does your child prefer to learn?
Regardless of your role as classroom teacher or homeschool educator/parent, I view myself as a collaborator in your teaching practice, and work to create online courses that you can use a piece at a time, if you wish. I want to help you bring more hands-on, interactive tools to your learners.
